I don’t know about you, but summer always inspires me to revitalize my home design, bringing in brighter tones and refreshed accents. I mean, c’mon. A new season calls for a fresh room look, right? There is something about all of the energy and vibrancy outdoors this time of year that is makes me want to harness that for indoors as well.
If you’re looking to make your home a summer sanctuary, then try these 4 steps:
Add a Splash of Color
What better way to liven up your layout than with some vivid hues? Being a Minnesotan, I’m pretty much in a perpetual state of wanting to be on a lake, so I love bringing in tones that remind me of the beach. A few colors in particular that have me hooked this year: teal, citrus, and coral. Check out the Eclectic Goods beauts below!
Plus Up the Plants
As plants thrive outdoors, why not bring some to your interior? I personally have 18 houseplants now, and feel they are the best way to liven up a space – literally and figuratively. The added perk of bring in some greenery: you can add fun planters too! You can keep it simple, or play around with textures and patterns to add extra flair.
Weave in Natural Elements
If I haven’t already proved that I love beachy vibes, then this should seal the deal. I love playing around with organic materials in my home design. Not only do they bring rich texture to a space, but they give me all the coastal feels during summertime. If you want to freshen up your home for the season, I highly recommend playing around with rattan, cane, and jute.
Deck Out Your Patio
Although I’ve focused on interior updates, I couldn’t possibly forget about the exterior! We are currently putting together plans to revamp our backyard and add in a new patio this summer.
