Global Touches for the Travel-Obsessed

I am sure I'm not alone in missing travel. It is probably the thing I am most eager to return to normal. I yearn to go abroad again and experience other cultures, cuisines, and landscapes. If you're like me and have a severe case of wanderlust, then it may be energizing to bring some global touches to your home. Not only can it be a fun way to highlight your love for exploring, but playing with an array of styles gives your home loads of character. Wall Art

Whether you like framed prints or mirrors, wall pieces are a great way to bring some worldly aesthetic to your place. These beauties will instantly create a stylish focal point to dress up any room.

Lighting

It is a design principle that every room should have multiple light sources. The great thing is this, leaves plenty of opportunity to add a little global glow (literally). Here are some knock-outs.

2. Flowering Lotus Pendant. I love how artistic and vintage this looks. The lotus flower is also a significant symbol in Chinese culture.

Rugs

Most textiles are produced abroad, and rugs are no exception. Turkey and Morocco in particular are meccas for stylish floor coverings. Although some of these are produced in the US, they draw inspiration from across the globe.

1. Zebra Print Hide Rug. If you are feeling wild, then this rug is for you.


2. Ephesus Moroccan Rug. With an understated design and plush pile, you'll love how soft this one is.


3. Naturals Tobago Rug. This is a classic look that's both earthy and contemporary.


4. Vintage Turkish Rug No. 12. It may be a small but it is big on style.


5. Layla Flatweave Dhurrie. A staple design of South Asian countries, this rug was printed by artisans in India.

Throw Pillows

Pillows are easily my favorite home accessory, and it is pretty clear why. These global cushions are a great place to rest your head as you daydream about all the places you'll go.

2. Kabela Pillow in Terracotta. I dig the geometric pattern paired with a rich color pop.

5. Indigo Batik Pillow. I cannot get enough of this gorgeous throw made with traditional Indonesian techniques.

Objects and Accents

Last but certainly not least, decorative objects are a final easy way to channel your travel bug. These are great for embellishing a bookshelf or coffee table. Whatever you do, make sure they're easily visible.

1. Found Decorative Bowls. This carved set adds a stunning, rustic touch.


2. Leena Rattan Wrapped Pitcher. I love a chic tablescape and this pitcher is a lovely addition for indoor or outdoor hosting.


3. Indah Rattan Bowl. As you can tell, rattan is a tried-and-true material for this aesthetic.


4. African Recycled Glass Beads. Drape these in a bowl or over a book to instantly enhance the vignette.


5. Hand-Carved Wooden Buddha. If you are Buddhist or practice meditation or yoga, this would be an awesome sculpture to include in your favorite mindfulness spot.
